Gaurav Nijjer Singh’s performance installation of Kafka’s ‘The Trial’ hopes to draw young people to theatre
Prachi Sibal speaks to Gaurav Singh Nijjer about I, Josef, an immersive performance installation based on Franz Kafka’s The Trial, presented with the support of the Goethe-Institut. This multimedia experience utilizes binaural sound and wireless headphones to deeply involve the audience in Josef K.'s disorienting world. The production explores Kafka’s enduring themes of alienation and bureaucratic oppression, making it highly relevant to today’s world. By combining innovative technology with theatre, Nijjer pushes the boundaries of storytelling in a unique and sensory manner.
